Peddler's Village

The Huntingdon Valley Camera Club's annual photo scavenger hunt occurred this past Saturday, May 14th. Upon meeting up we discovered our secret location was Peddler's Village just minutes away from New Hope Pennsylvania. I was very excited for this location, as PV is a great spot to visit for a day. They have a variety of fun shops to visit, and great restaurants to eat at. It is all outdoors with beautiful scenery to enjoy along your walk. My favorite shop is Chaddsford Winery. At times I have found myself driving the 40 minutes just to pick up some bottles. Here are a sample of pictures from the day. Check out my Facebook photography page to view more shots of my trip to Peddler's Village.

Photo Competition: 1st Place in Color & Best in Show!

I have stated before I am part of a local camera club, Huntington Valley Camera Club (meetup.com page). At our recent meeting we had an open competition with a local judge from New York Camera & Video in Bensalem. Out of all the photos entered for color, my photo "Gothic Night" won first place. It then went head to head with 1st place in Monochrome and ended up taking Best in Show for the night. This was my first time placing at a monthly competition and I was very proud of my photo. Below is the photo that won. The only thing you can't see is the fact that I printed it on metallic paper through mpix.com.

'Gothic Night'

Photo Note: This was taken on Liberty Island. The pier was chained off from the public and I just enjoyed how it looked like a pathway to South Manhattan in the background. The dark comical effect was a result of running the multiple exposures through the HDR process in Photomatix Pro.

Valley Forge National Park

I have been wanting to go and take picture at Valley Forge National Park. The Harvest Moon was occurring and seemed like it would be a great night to go the park. Unfortunately, there was a bad storm and the clouds were so thick you could not seen the moon. I was able to come across this breath taking memorial and managed to capture it's beauty.

Photo Note: I was trying to get a picture with the sun setting behind this but found the end result of this to be better. The sunset would only distract from the front lighting of the memorial and provide less contrast against the dark sky in the background.
